This is one of my favorite pieces that I’ve picked up over the years. Doki Doki Literature Club! is a fantastic game that became something of a cultural phenomenon for a few years about a decade (!!) ago. It’s a work highly interested in meta-narrative and genre conventions as vehicles for dark psychological horror. This vinyl is a particular manifestation of that meta impulse—showcasing the game’s meta-nature in the physical construction of the vinyl and packaging itself. The alternate cover configurations are a fantastic (and fantastically simple) touch and the vinyl itself is this hypnotic dark maroon.
